FAHR: Future Step: Empowering Emirati Youth Through a Smart Training Portal

Investing in young national talent represents a fundamental pillar in building a sustainable future for the UAE. Empowering youth with practical skills and hands-on experience contributes to preparing a generation capable of keeping pace with the rapid transformations in the labour market and participating effectively in the nation’s development journey.

In line with this direction, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), in cooperation with the Federal Youth Authority, has launched the “Future Step” Portal, a smart digital platform enhanced by AI technologies. The platform is designed to connect recent graduates and students from accredited universities and colleges with training opportunities available across federal government entities.

The portal provides a unified platform that enables federal entities to publish their available training opportunities, while allowing students and graduates to review and apply for these opportunities electronically with ease and transparency. The platform also leverages artificial intelligence technologies to analyses CVs and match applicants’ skills with suitable training opportunities, thereby accelerating the selection process and improving the quality of alignment between candidates and available opportunities.

In a commitment to enhancing the quality of the training experience, the Authority has developed a unified and comprehensive training guide that accompanies graduates and students throughout their training journey. The guide clarifies training mechanisms and requirements, helping participants maximize the benefits of the experience and acquire the practical skills they need for their professional careers.

The initiative offers practical training opportunities within federal government entities for a period of three months, renewable, giving students and graduates the opportunity to become familiar with the work environment and gain practical experience that helps refine their skills and strengthen their readiness for the labour market.

The “Future Step” Portal marks an important step towards fostering a culture of experiential learning and building bridges of cooperation between educational institutions and government entities, in a way that supports youth empowerment and prepares national talent capable of leading the future, in alignment with the objectives of the UAE Vision 2031.
