The second edition of the Youth Council for Government Talents discusses its plan for the next phase
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) recently held the second meeting of the Youth Council for Government Talents, in its second edition. The council members discussed their plan for the next phase, and the mechanism of work and management of the council, which FAHR launched its first edition in 2022, in cooperation with the Federal Youth Foundation, with the aim of supporting young government talents and engaging them in shaping the future of government human resources, making policies and developing the government human capital system, based on the visions, aspirations and innovative and creative ideas of young people.
The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, was attended by Her Excellency Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director General of FAHR, Meitha Kolthoum, Director of the Strategy and Future Department, and members of the Youth Council for Government Talents, in its second edition, who were selected last August as representatives of ministries and federal entities.
At the beginning of the meeting, Her Excellency Laila Al Suwaidi welcomed the members of the Youth Council for Government Talents, and congratulated them on their selection as members of the Council, among the elite of Emirati young government talents. She stressed the importance of the role entrusted to them in designing initiatives and policies that have an impact on the future of UAE government work, which will contribute to adopting the best models and solutions to the challenges of government human resources, thus enhancing the leadership of the UAE government to be at the forefront of the best governments in the world.
The second meeting included an introduction session between the members of the Council, and they discussed the features of the Council’s plan for the next stage, and the expectations associated with it, reviewing related strategic ideas and proposals, and consulting on the mechanism of work and management of the Council, as the President, Vice President and Rapporteur have to be elected.
Through the Council, FAHR aims to prepare an attractive and stimulating government work system for youth, and enhance the supportive environment for the development of young talents, as the Council constitutes a platform for engaging them in designing the human capital management system, developing future human resources policies in the government, and innovating proactive solutions and initiatives to design the future of government work.

The new formation of the Youth Council for Government Talents brings together an elite of promising Emirati young talents from employees of the UAE government, who were selected after interviewing candidates from more than 50 federal entities who applied to join the new formation of the council.
The Government Talent Youth Council undertakes a number of tasks and responsibilities, including discussing trends that concern youth in government work, devising solutions to enhance and support young Emirati talents, and designing future policies that support youth in the government human resources system.
