Considering Possibilities to Enhance Joint GCC Cooperation to Develop Government Talent and Human Resources Systems UAE Government Participates in the Meeting of Ministers and Heads of Civil Service and Administrative Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)
The Government of the United Arab Emirates participated in the 21st Meeting of Ministers and Heads of Civil Service and Administrative Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Hosted by the State of Kuwait, the meeting was chaired by H.E. Shareeda Abdullah Saad Al Maousherji, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs in the State of Kuwait, and attended by H.E. Jasem Al-Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC.
The UAE delegation was headed by H.E. Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and Chairwoman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR). The delegation also included H.E. Faisal Binbuti AL Mheiri, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), and H.E. Ibrahim Fikri, Executive Director of the Support Services Sector at FAHR.
Ohood Al Roumi: An Annual Forum to Share Insights, Exchange Ideas, and Enhance Joint GCC Cooperation
- E. Ohood Al Roumi affirmed that the Meeting of Ministers and Heads of Civil Service and Administrative Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) constitutes an annual forum to share insights, exchange ideas, and enhance joint GCC cooperation in developing government talent and specialized human cadres equipped with skills and expertise. These cadres can participate actively in the efforts to shape future governments. She emphasized the UAE Government’s commitment to active participation in strengthening the GCC partnership aimed at establishing an advanced talent system and supporting government cadres to help build the future.
Her Excellency stated that the outcomes and results of the meeting, along with the discussions and experiences reviewed, will contribute to supporting the implementation of the directives of the GCC leaders to enhance the government talent and human resources system. This will also enable the system to keep pace with rapid global changes and provide it with the capabilities and solutions necessary to foster an attractive, inclusive, and enabling work environment for talent, while supporting initiatives to increase productivity and improve the quality of life.
Enhancing Joint GCC Cooperation
The meeting discussed strengthening joint cooperation among the governments of the GCC to develop the government talent and human resources system. It also covered mechanisms for leveraging advanced GCC experiences in managing human resources and nurturing and retaining talent and minds.
The participants addressed current and future challenges facing civil service agencies, and the best solutions to combat them. They also discussed ways to enhance the capabilities of governments in establishing attractive and stimulating government work environments for talent and human capital and reviewed the most prominent global changes and developments in this field.
