Awarding Distinguished Personnel in Civil Service Work and Administrative Development Honoring 5 UAE government leaders with the GCC Civil Service Medal

H. E. Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and Chairwoman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), took part in the ceremony organized to honor GCC talents with the GCC Civil Service and Administrative Development Medal. Medals were awarded to distinguished government professionals who have made valuable contributions throughout their careers in civil service and administrative development and have actively contributed to the advancement of human resources and government work in the GCC.

This was a part of a concurrent ceremony of the 21st meeting of the Ministers and Heads of Civil Service and Administrative Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), hosted by the State of Kuwait. The event was attended by H. E. Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior in the State of Kuwait; H. E. Jasem Al-Budaiwi, Secretary General of the GCC; and the ministers and heads of civil service agencies in the member states.

The ceremony witnessed the awarding of five government leaders from the UAE with the GCC Civil Service and Administrative Development Medal. They are:

H.E. Eng. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, Director General of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), H.E Ohood Ali Shehil, Director General of Ajman Digital Government, H.E. Matar Saeed Al Hemeiri, CEO of the Digital Dubai Government Establishment; H.E. Saeed Rashid Al Yateem, Assistant Under Secretary of the Resource and Budget Sector at the Ministry of Finance, and H.E. Ibrahim Salman Al Hammadi, Executive Director of the Government Performance and Excellence Sector at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs.

Majed Al Mesmar: The Honor Enhance the UAE’s Standing in Digital Government 

H.E. Eng. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, Director General of the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA), expressed his pride in this honor. He stated that the GCC Civil Service and Administrative Development Medal is one of the highest honors granted by the Council to recognize distinguished leaders and experts in this field. This recognition reflects the high appreciation of the efforts of the task forces that I pride myself on leading, and for the achievements made possible thanks to the support of the wise leadership, which has established the UAE as a world model for leadership and development in innovation, digital transformation, and citizen service.

He added; “This medal constitutes a renewed impetus to undertake further work in a spirit of one team, to enhance the UAE’s positioning as a leading and advanced nation in the fields of digital government and artificial intelligence, and to cement its global presence in competitiveness. This aligns with UAE’s aspirations for a more prosperous and sustainable future and contributes to achieving the State’s ambitious goals and strategy for building a secure and prosperous digital state”.

Matar Al Hemeiri: The UAE’s Expertise Contributes to Creating a Shared Future for the GCC

H.E. Matar Saeed Al Hemeiri, CEO of the Digital Dubai Government Establishment, stated; “It is a great privilege and honor for me to be recognized as one of the Emirati talents who have made a significant impact on the journey of government work at the level of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. I am most pleased that this recognition is made by the GCC, on the sidelines of the 21st meeting of the Ministers and Heads of Civil Service and Administrative Development of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which was hosted by the sisterly State of Kuwait.”

He added; “We, in the GCC, belong to one home, united by a shared future. Every GCC talent is a qualitative addition to the journey of joint GCC work. In the UAE, we have learned from our wise leadership that Emirati experiences and expertise were and will remain an asset for our brothers in the GCC”.

Ohood Shehil: The GCC Medal is an Appreciation for the UAE and its Leadership, and Motivates Us to Contribute Even More

For her part, H.E Ohood Ali Shehil, Director General of Ajman Digital Government, stated; “I am deeply honored to be granted the GCC Civil Service and Administrative Development Medal, and I am proud to be among the Emirati leaders honored with this prestigious medal”.

She added; “This honor reflects the high appreciation for the UAE and its wise leadership, let alone a personal one. It is a renewed impetus to give more and contribute to consolidate our commitment to enhancing the GCC integration and UAE’s positioning among the world’s leading nations”.

Saeed Al Yateem: The GCC Medal is an Incentive to Continue Innovating in Government Resource Management 

H.E. Saeed Rashid Al Yateem, Assistant Under Secretary of the Resource and Budget Sector at the Ministry of Finance, declared that being awarded the GCC Civil Service and Administrative Development Medal is an honor that reflects the UAE’s positioning in the government administration and development of institutional work system. He noted that the medal, granted by the General Secretariat of the GCC, is the product of the synergy and complementarity of the collective efforts of various government entities.

He emphasized that this GCC recognition is not only a personal milestone, but rather an added responsibility that motivates a continued effort to solidify innovative practices in government resource management, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of systems and legislation and serving the inclusive development witnessed in the region.

Ibrahim Al Hammadi: The Honor Celebrates the Advanced Experience Developed by the UAE Government

H.E. Ibrahim Salman Al Hammadi, Executive Director of the Government Performance and Excellence Sector at Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, and Coordinator General of the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program (SKGEP), affirmed that honoring Emirati talents with the GCC Civil Service and Administrative Development Medal is a celebration of the advanced experience developed by the UAE government under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. He also stated that it is a testimony to the excellence of Emirati leaders and government cadres in various fields of government work.

Ibrahim Salman pointed out that the recognition serves as a great incentive for government cadres and leaders to redouble and intensify efforts to further advance the comprehensive development and modernization of the government work system, which will benefit the GCC, positively impact their societies, and contribute to ensuring a better future for the future generations.
