FAHR Releases its Annual Report for 2017 achievements

HE. Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) stated that the first year of the Fourth Strategic Cycle 2017-2021 was a year for innovation and significant accomplishments in terms of launching vital projects and initiatives, proposing policies and legislation, adopting global best practices in human capital development at the Federal Government level, as well as enhancing productivity and creating a working environment conducive to attracting talent. All these initiatives were aimed at shaping the future.

Commenting on the issuance of the annual report of the Authority for 2017, he said: “The Authority's team has worked hard over the past years to accomplish the tasks assigned to them and to realize the objective of investing in human capital as one of the most important forms of investment. These achievements were the outcome of embracing the latest human resource systems, policies, legislation and practices aimed at ensuring a better future for the coming generations and enhancing the global competitiveness and leadership of the UAE.

“I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to FAHR staff, partners and customers in the ministries and federal entities, local governments and the private sector, who have been credited with these achievements, after Allah, and the efforts and guidance of our wise leadership: H.H Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces”

The Director General added: “During 2017, the Authority played an active role in moderating the HR Axis at the UAE Government's annual meetings, which saw the launch of 130 national initiatives in 30 federal and local sectors, 6 of them aimed at empowering  government human resources through integration of human resources policies and systems, assessment of HR maturity, study of future job skills, launching of scientific research on HR and the establishing a unified State-level statistical database of government HRs”.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Awar spoke about the Authority's most important achievements during the past year at the Federal Government Level, including the development of HR Management Information System (BAYANATI); automation of many HR systems and procedures; launch of Smart App. ‘FAHR’, including 27 key and sub-services, as well as updating and development of employee Performance Management System and Training & Development System.

He said that the Authority also launched a special award for the best scientific research on human resources, targeting students and professors of universities and colleges in the country. It finalized evaluation description of all Federal Government job as part of a large project, the first of its kind in the country, and opened a childcare centre for its employees to strengthen the influence of women across all sectors and achieve gender balance. Moreover, a series of specialized guides were developed to organize work system, including: the Guide to Talent Attraction and Retention, Guide to Employee Wellbeing, the Guide to Knowledge Management, and another guide to volunteering in the work environment.

“The ongoing projects include the development of the Federal Government employees’ discount program Imtyazat by launching it in new form and content as a smart application; Ma’arif initiative of Federal Government’s preferred training partners, which held 400 training courses for employees of ministries and federal entities, five HR Club forums, and  the 7th International Human Resources Conference, in addition to implementation of 40 community initiatives and events during the Year of Giving", Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Awar noted.

FAHR Report 2017

The bilingual (English and Arabic) Annual Report of FAHR sheds light on the most prominent achievements, initiatives and projects launched during the last year in a very attractive format, in both soft and hard copies. It can be accessed on the Authority’s website: www.fahr.gov.ae .

The 190-page long report starts with a forward followed by the institutional ambition statement. It contains a detailed presentation of the latest updates in institutional work and strategic projects launched by the Authority during the last year. It also sheds light on a large number of internal activities, accomplishments and initiatives implemented during 2017, as well as an executive summary in English for all activities and initiatives.

By issuing this report, the authority hopes to sustain the process of enhancing performance, stand up to challenges and accomplish the set objectives and initiatives. FAHR will carry on implementing its activities reaching for the highest possible levels of functional performance and improvement of work environment in line with the rapid advancements in the field of human resources on a global level.

The report is made public to reflect the Authority’s desire to entrench the principle of engagement and transparency. It constitutes a source of knowledge characterized by credibility, truthfulness, and a reference for specialists.
