Since its inception, the Federal
Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), has placed corporate social
responsibility (CSR) at the top of its agenda and worked to fulfill this
responsibility by all means, and seeks to proactively contribute to social
development based on ethical principles that respect employees, society and the
environment.
There have been many forms of social responsibility by the Authority over the
past years, but we would like to focus in this regard on its role in launching
humanitarian and voluntary initiatives, as well as supporting charitable
organizations, and some health authorities working in the country to make their
humanitarian campaigns successful. These initiatives are aimed at providing
support and assistance to needy people within and outside UAE.
Over the years, the Authority has committed itself to a humanitarian program
ready at the beginning of every year, as an integral part of its strategic
plan. Not only that, but it sets measures to follow-up the implementation of
all initiatives and criteria for their success, to ensure their relevance.
The Authority has actually succeeded
in strengthening its position in the field of social responsibility, during the
past years, by implementing and supporting dozens of community and humanitarian
initiatives, in collaboration with a group of charitable institutions and
societies operating in the country. We thank God, then the Federal Government
employees and community members, whose efforts greatly helped our mission
through their donations or organization
of volunteering campaigns.
What distinguished the Authority was its keenness to involve the largest segment of Federal Government employees in particular and members of society in general, in the implementation of its community and humanitarian initiatives, using the media, social networking and databases, to market its campaigns via SMS and e-mail.
Statistically speaking, in 2017 for example, the Authority was able, to launch 40 humanitarian initiatives, raising more than 607,000 dirhams. Initiative continued: 30 in 2018, 20 in 2019, 6 qualitative initiatives in 2020, collecting 745,000 dirhams, 16,000 dirhams, and 472,000 dirhams, respectively. Other than the financial value of these initiatives, there were a whole lot of initiatives, which had a symbolic, rather than material importance.
