The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Dar Al-Ber Society in Dubai, in conjunction with Zayed Day for Humanitarian Action. The MoU aimed at strengthening partnership between the two sides and enhancing cooperation in humanitarian assistance, and community service.
The move comes to confirm the humanitarian and societal role played by FAHR and as part of its intensified campaigns to launch community-based initiatives during the Year of Giving involving all the employees of the Federal Government. The MoU was signed by FAHR Director General, Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, and Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Executive Director of Dar Al-Ber Society.

"The Authority has recently launched three humanitarian initiatives and campaigns at the Federal Government level, in cooperation with Dar Al-Ber Society, namely: Umrah Al Omr, which provided assistance for 106 auxiliary workers to perform Umrah; campaign to secure treatment for patients with thalassemia and cancer, registered with Dar Al-Ber Society as part of ‘Sanadhom Amanah’ initiative launched by the Authority in 2016, in addition to a voluntary campaign to organize Iftar tables for needy fasting people in five Ramadan tents in Dubai.”
He added: "The Authority believes in the importance of community service in strengthening the social fabric of the UAE. So, it devoted all its efforts and potentials to launch humanitarian initiatives and campaigns that benefit various segments of society, in response to the declaration of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State "may God protect him" designating 2017 as “Year of Giving".
Dr Al Awar indicated that the Authority launched a series of community initiatives to mark the Year of Giving, in cooperation with partner federal, local and private institutions, pointing out that an integrated plan for community-based initiatives has been prepared throughout the year 2017, with participation of employees of other ministries and federal entities through soliciting their opinions regarding the community initiatives that they wish to be implemented by FAHR during the year.
He said that the Authority seeks through its community initiatives to maximize interest within and outside the country, and to consolidate the values of volunteerism and philanthropy, promote the spirit of social responsibility, and instil the values of loyalty and career happiness by volunteering.
