The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), recently announced concluding a cooperation agreement with the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) to offer a set of intensive training programs and workshops for employees of ministries and federal entities, as part of the e-learning portal initiative in the federal government (Al Mawrid).
In this regard, Maryam Al Zarooni, Director of Government Human Resource Management Planning at the Authority, explained that the cooperation reflects a strong desire of FAHR and HCT for developing the skills and capabilities of federal government employees, through the provision of reliable high -quality e-training, to enable them to keep pace with a changing labor market, and to translate the strategic plans and objectives of their employers into tangible reality.
She said: “Under this cooperation agreement with the Authority, the Higher Colleges of Technology, recently launched a 4-day free training program for federal government employees entitled "Project Management using the Agile Methodology", which was attended by nearly 2,400 employees. The Authority will provide federal government employees with a range of distinguished training programs to be offered by HCT this year exclusively under Al Mawrid initiative”.
Maryam Al Zarooni called on federal government employees to visit the federal government’s e-learning portal (Al-Mawrid): www.al-mawrid.ae, to benefit from the training programs and all the services provided through the portal. She urged employees to participate in various carefully selected training courses and programs designed to develop their competencies in ministries and federal entities to meet the current and future labor market needs.
The Authority has originally launched Al Mawrid initiative to motivate federal government employees to continuously learn, develop their knowledge, skills and abilities, and enable them to prepare for the future labor market.
For his part, Eng. Abdullah Al Muhairi, Vice President of Shared Services, at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), stressed the importance of cooperation between the colleges and the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources in order to enhance the culture of lifelong learning among employees, as well as develop their professional performance, and enrich their knowledge and experiences.
He said: “The HCT carefully selected the training content according to the skills required by the labor market, in coordination with FAHR, and in line with the nature and needs of the federal entities. We have also agreed that training should be provided by college staff with professional and academic experience”.
Al-Muhairi considered that the interaction with the first specialized training programs, which was introduced in the area of "Project Management", was encouraging for more similar programs, and reflected the awareness about the importance of professional development among the entities and their employees.
