The sixth International Conference on Human Resources, organized by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), will start on Monday at the Dubai World Trade Centre, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. The event entitled "The Future of Human Resources & their Role in transforming Government Competences", will bring together more than 500 specialist human resources and business.
In this regard, HE Ibrahim Fikri, Acting Executive Director of Support Services, FAHR, indicated that the conference will discuss a number of topics and issues that are closely linked to the development and empowerment of human capital such as the culture of happiness and the importance of establishing it in the work environment, building government capacity and the future role of human resources, managing Human Resources in the Knowledge economy, education and development, rewards and incentives, strategic workforce planning, resources metrics, etc
He said the International Human Resources Conference, under the chairmanship of HE Hussein bin Ibrahim Al Hamadi, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources is one of the key strategic initiatives of FAHR, and an ideal platform exchange the best practices and experiences in the field of human capital management and development at the local, regional and international levels, as well as highlight the most important issues in this vital area, deal with underlying challenges, and develop appropriate solutions to overcome them, towards enhancing government efficiency and preparing for the future.
30 speakers and 500 participants
HE Ibrahim Fikri indicated that the conference will see the participation of nearly 30 speakers and over 500 experts specialized in human resources, in addition to those interested in the field of human resources, a number of ministers of civil service & administrative development in GCC countries, and senior human resources officials in the government and private sectors in various countries around the world.
“The conference at its sixth session will witness the participation of a group of leading global human resources organizations with which FAHR has signed memorandums of understanding, including: Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Australian HR Institute (AHRI), in addition to the keynote speakers from institutions with hand-on experience in the management and development of human capital such as Emirates Airline, DP World, Marriott International, General Electric, PepsiCo, Jumeirah Group and Delivering Happiness”, he Siad.

He explained that the conference will review a number of case studies on topics like a New Era for engaging employees in decision-making, enhancing communication among staff to achieve the organization’s strategic objectives, mechanism for talent attraction and retention, and the best approaches for career development and progression.
5 workshops and specialized certificates
Ibrahim Fikri said that FAHR will organize five specialized workshops on human resources, on the sidelines of the conference, three of them one day before the conference opening, under the title: Achieving Happiness in the Workplace, Driving Innovation by Providing an Engaging Work Environment, and Understanding Human Resources Metrics. These workshops will be held in collaboration with SHRM, USA, in addition to two specialized workshops one day after the conference: HR as an Institutional Business Partner, Social Networking Sites and their Role In Hiring Human Resources, in collaboration with CIPD, where certificates will be awarded to participants.
