The Authority launches the updated version of its Smart App “FAHR”

Wednesday November 16, 2022

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources “FAHR” recently launched the updated version of its smart application "FAHR" which includes 9 new services. The services are now available to the federal government employees and make it easier for the employees to complete the various human resources procedures on their own in a much faster and simpler manner.

Asem Al Awadhi, Director of the Department of Human Resources Management Information System at FAHR, stated that the Authority launched the updated version of its smart app as part of its continuous efforts to invest in the latest technologies and ensure the best services are provided to the federal government employees and the customers. The new version is currently available on the App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery.

He also stated that the updated version of the Authority's smart app, which was launched back in 2014, now features a unique collection of more than 40 services that were developed using the best programming languages and artificial intelligence. The new services allow the federal government employees to complete all HR procedures automatically anytime and from anywhere. The updated app engagement was considerable as many of the federal government employees used the app to conduct around 151,000 human resource procedures between the beginning of this year and the beginning of October.

Furthermore, Al Awadhi stated that more than 40 federal ministries and agencies directly benefit from the services provided by the FAHR smart app, especially those services that are related to smart human resources systems and procedures in the federal government. The app functions as a unified smart platform that allows employees to complete all human resources procedures using their own mobile devices without the need to refer to human resources departments. This simplifies the Human Resources procedures and makes it easier for employees to complete them. It also allows the human resources departments to save time and effort and enables them to focus more on their own tasks and responsibilities and the organization’s strategic projects.

He added that the Authority constantly works on developing its smart app and transforming all its primary and secondary services into smart ones to make them available through the app. This comes as part of the Authority’s efforts to automate all government services and turn them into smart ones to simplify the process and provide its customers with a unique experience.

Omran Al Shamsi, Head of the HRMIS Development & Maintenance Section at FAHR, explained that the Authority launched a collection of new services this year through its smart app that directly target the employees of ministries and federal entities. The new services include: The three-step electronic signature for job contracts service, the new employee performance evaluation during the probation period service, and the request for remote work on Friday service, which was created in response to the UAE government’s adoption of the new weekly work system in the federal and the flexibility granted by the legislator to certain groups of employees that allows them to work remotely on this particular day.

Other innovative services that the app offers to the federal government employees include those that are used to record attendance, issue e-business cards, search for vacancies in the federal government, facilitate the application process for job seekers, allow access to attendance records, request leaves, request salary  certificates and certificates of expertise, issue To Whom It May Concern letters, request legal advice on human resources laws, policies and legislation in the federal government, complete all stages of the performance management system for the federal government employees, and prepare individual development plans.

Moreover, he pointed out that the app offers a collection of self-services for federal government employees, including: (Displaying and updating personal documents, requesting technical support services to assist the ministries and federal entities in carrying out various human resources procedures, searching for employees in the federal government, communicating with employees via e-mail, and nominating employees as part of the federal rewards and incentives system, and accessing the job description card).

The new version of the app includes several features, such as the customer pulse survey, which measures the user’s satisfaction with the smart app, as well as the list of the Authority’s accounts on social media platforms, the weekly working hours update, and the updated procedure for applying for a “compassionate leave” under the self-service system whereby the addition of the kinship is mandatory. It also includes an update to the “official permission” application procedure and the “cumulative average” field in the “add educational qualification” procedure, which allows the user to add his/her cumulative average in letters or numbers.

Additionally, the Authority has allocated a set of smart and interactive channels to communicate with the public and receive their comments on the services it provides as part of its efforts to develop its services and enhance its customer satisfaction. Among these channels are the Customer Happiness System and the Authority’s email address Info@fahr.gov.ae
