FAHR releases the 3rd Edition of “HR Echo” Magazine

Wednesday November 25, 2015

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has launched the third edition of the specialized bilingual and biannual magazine “HR Echo”. The content of the magazine is prepared in partnerships with globally recognized institutions in the field of human resources and the empowerment and development of human capital, such as the British Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development(CIPD); Boston Consultancy Group(PCG); Monash University in Australia; Duke University in US; the Association of Qualitative Research in UK and the Korean Institute for Officials Training (COTI).

HE Aiysha Al-Suwaidi, the Executive Director of Human Resources Policies Sector in FAHR, pointed out that the HR Echo magazine is considered one of the innovative initiatives of FAHR. It is prepared through global partnerships without bearing any financial burdens on the part of FAHR, despite the fact that the preparation of the studies and research published in the magazine require large budgets.

She said that the launch of the third issue of "HR Echo " coincides with the UAE Innovation Week, called for earlier this year by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, (May Allah protects him), which is held from 22 to November 28 of each year. She indicated that FAHR aims, through the issuing of this magazine, to keep up with the directives and visions of the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates and their ambitions in the race towards excellence, leadership, global competitiveness and innovation for the benefit of all mankind.

She pointed out that the UAE, as usual, was the first to embrace and invest in innovation and to call for turning innovation into a permanent approach to work performance and making it a daily practice in all aspects of life. It is to be treated as one of the foundations of global competitiveness and an element of global leadership, all the way to accomplish the UAE Vision 2021 to become one of the best countries in the world by that date. She pointed out that there are unique global experiences and practices in the field of human capital development from which UAE can benefit. The HR Echo journal tries to shed light on such experiences.

She explained that the authority is seeking, through “HR Echo”, to address the largest segment of customers, partners and the public of specialists and those interested in the growth, development and the empowerment of human resources, not only in the UAE but also at regional and international levels.

She noted that the third issue of HR Echo contains a set of scientific articles, studies and global experiences on the development and growth of human capital and the attempt to promote institutional work and improve the working environment through the adoption of innovation as a work approach. This issue focuses on the four principal facets of how to manage distinguished departments of human resources; how to plan manpower resources; how to link planning with business strategies and the growing role of social networks in attracting talents, competences and retaining them. The publication also sheds light on the Korean experience in talent management, and the difference in mental capacity between men and women in the work environment, and other topics.

HE Aiysha Al Suwaidi confirmed that both hard and online copies of the magqazine are distributed for free to more than 50 thousand readers inside and outside the state. The authority has a huge database as part of the HR information management system, “Bayanati” and its accounts on the social media websites, mailing lists to a variety of partners and friends of the authority, in addition to the members of the human Resources Club. She pointed out that the journal is available on the FAHR website www.fahr.gov.ae,  in both Arabic and English , where prospective readers may subscribe online.
