"Jahiz" competition honors entities with the highest achievements in developing the future skills of their employees

FAHR launched the “Jahiz” competition to motivate ministries and federal entities to enhance the “readiness” of their government talented employees for the future, through active participation in the tracks offered by “Jahiz” platform. This comes as part of FAHR efforts to translate on the ground the visions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, May God protect him, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, to ensure that the UAE government will be the readiest government for the future.

The “Jahiz” badge is awarded to the entities with the highest achievements as a symbol of appreciation of their contribution to developing the future skills of their employees. The first stage of “Jahiz” competition focused on cybersecurity, as the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs were awarded the “Jahiz” badge for cybersecurity after their employees attained the highest percentage of achievement in the cyber security track at the level of federal government entities.

His Excellency Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad Al Owais, Minister of Health and Community Protection, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Abdul Manan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, received the cybersecurity badge from Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, Chairwoman of FAHR, in the presence of His Excellency Tariq Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, His Excellency Khalil Ibrahim Khoury, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation for Human Resources Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Cyber Security Council of the UAE Government, and Her Excellency Laila Al Suwaidi, Acting Director General of FAHR.

Her Excellency Ohood Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and Chairwoman of FAHR, highlighted that cybersecurity skills are crucial for readiness for the future, noting that "Jahiz" platform embodies the aspirations of the visionary leadership to hone the skills of government talented employees and provide them with advanced skills for the future, thus contributing to increasing the participation of national cadres in achieving the goals of the vision "We The UAE 2031", designing new business models required by the government of the future, and enhancing productivity and institutional efficiency.  

Her Excellency Ohood Al Roumi added that "Jahiz" platform provided more than 142,000 badges to federal government employees in various tracks, with cyber security at the top with more than 31,000 badges. She congratulated the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs for their exceptional achievements and for achieving first positions in the cyber security track. Her Excellency thanked the Cyber Security Council for its cooperation and support for "Jahiz" platform.

His Excellency Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Community Protection and Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, on the occasion of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs receiving "Jahiz" badge for cybersecurity, affirmed that the UAE, thanks to the vision of its visionary leadership, enhances its readiness for the future by investing in talents and expertise and optimal use of modern technology, which enabled it to achieve a leading and distinguished position in this field worldwide.

His Excellency praised the great efforts of "Jahiz" platform work teams, stressing that the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs winning of the badge is a proof of the readiness of the Ministry and its work teams for the future and their keeping pace with the aspirations and vision of our visionary leadership, and keenness to actively contribute to the development of government work and enhance the competitiveness of the UAE, and constitutes a new milestone added to the Ministry's record of milestones, and a catalyst to deploy more effort and continue the hard work for the sake of improvement and excellence.

His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Abdul Manan Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation appreciated the efforts of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources to govern the work of federal government employees, in a way that contributes to developing their skills in dealing with digital technology in order to achieve the vision of the UAE government.

His Excellency stressed the keenness and commitment of the Ministry to enhance cybersecurity practices within its various organizational units through reliable digital capabilities and secure mechanisms, which contributes to strengthening the various channels of communication and exchanging information and data between employees according to smart and safe mechanisms, thus increasing the level of performance and productivity among its human staff.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the Cyber Security Council of the UAE Government, said that the first phase of "Jahiz" competition came within the framework of fortifying cyber security, which is one of the most prominent priorities of the UAE government, with the aim of developing a safe digital environment. He congratulated the entities that received "Jahiz" badge, stressing that cyber security and digital safety are an integral part of the strategies of the Cyber Security Council, designed to improve cyber security standards and practices in the UAE, and to protect digital infrastructure and create a safe and solid cyber environment that enables individuals and institutions to safely use modern technologies in a secure digital environment.

He pointed out that the comprehensive digital transformation in the UAE has led to the emergence of some threats related to cybersecurity, which requires full readiness and devising of methods and mechanisms to protect and secure the achievements of digital transformation in the UAE, explaining that from this standpoint came the cybersecurity initiatives as well as "Jahiz" initiative, and other programs to enhance cyber awareness and make it a general culture that engages all individuals and institutions.

It is worth noting that “Jahiz” digital platform provides federal government employees with 4 future skill sets, which include 20 skills for the future, to be completed within a year. The main skills set includes both digital skills and X10 skills to enhance productivity and accelerate achievement, in addition to data and artificial intelligence skills and skills for the new economy.

The platform includes a digital portfolio of future skills for each government employee, which represents a comprehensive profile that links the employee's achievement in acquiring skills with his job performance. Participants in the platform receive achievement badges upon completing the requirements of future skills.
