Job Evaluation & Description Committee endorses 359 job cards

The Federal Job Evaluation & Description Committee (FJEDC) has finalized the endorsement of 359 Federal Government job description cards including the basic and support functional groups, during its 10th meeting held at the headquarters of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) in Dubai recently, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Director General of FAHR.

In this regard, Laila Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Programs & HR Planning sector at FAHR explained that job evaluation and description cards endorsed by FJEDC cover 158 basic functional groups, including 32 cards for the Ministry of Environment & Water.

 

She revealed that FJEDC also endorsed a number of new sub-families in the Ministry of Environment & Water, namely Livestock Development and Environmental Laboratories. Al Suwaidi added that FJEDC is currently considering the feasibility of preparing descriptions for contact centers jobs in some ministries and federal entities within institutional support functional group.

 

According to Laila Al Suwaidi, the FJEDC had earlier finalized the evaluation and description of all support and assistance roles in the Federal Government, which amounted to 201 jobs.


For her part, Amna Al Suwaidi, Director of Human Resources Planning explained that FCJEC has a number of responsibilities, including but not limited to, providing support for the internal evaluation committees in the federal government entities, to ensure proper implementation of job evaluation and description processes, and endorsing the results of job evaluations conducted by internal job evaluation committees.

 

She said: “Other responsibilities include final approval of job titles, descriptions and families for new and existing jobs, periodic review of reference levels, in addition to making recommendations for adjustments if the need arises. It is also responsible for preparing periodic reports on the number of new and adjusted jobs in the federal government, and providing the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources with updated job titles, descriptions and families in government bodies periodically, as well as any other tasks assigned by the Chairman of FAHR”.

FCJEC shall meet on a regular basis or upon the invitation of its Chairman, at the time and place he determines fit. It shall take its decisions by simple majority, and in the event of a tie, the Chairman shall have the casting vote.

 

The membership of the Committee comprises the following: HE Marwan Al-Sawaleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Deputy-Chairman; HE Misbah Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Finance for Support Services; HE Saif Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Labor for Support Services; HE Awad Al Kotobii, Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Health for Support Services; HE Aisha Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of HR Policies at FAHR; HE Laila Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Programs & HR Planning at FAHR and Ali Hassan Al Jawi, HR expert at FAHR, Rapporteur
