The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) announced that collection of data and information of all UAE national employees between 18 and 30 years of age, who are subject the National and Reserve Service Law in the federal and local government institutions, had been completed, and submitted to the National and Reserve Service Authority.
Mr. Ibrahim Fikri, Director of Projects & Programs explained that FAHR had furnished the the National and Reserve Service Authority with detailed information of eligible employees working in 56 federal ministries and 7 local government institutions, as part of its role in implementing the National Service Law in cooperation with all local governments across the country.
He said: “The period of national service spent by conscripts before they are appointed in ministries, federal and local entities, public establishments or the private sector will be considered as part of their service in those entities.”
FAHR had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National and Reserve Service Authority to support the implementation of the Military and Reserve Service Law within the framework of existing strategic cooperation between the two parties. Under the MoU, The Authority will provide FAHR with any information regarding the employees eligible to join the service and support the implementation the Law through coordination and cooperation with relevant federal and local authorities.
An internal working team is set up by FAHR to support the implementation of the National and Reserve Law in the federal and local governments. The working team is tasked with preparing a list containing the numbers and data of the federal government employees who are subject to the military and reserve service draft law, develop necessary mechanisms to link and implement the draft law within the HR Management Information system "BAYANATI", coordinate with the concerned local governments to identify the employees eligible for military and reserve service, and review human resources legislation in the federal government that need alignment with the requirement of the Military Service Law.
