The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) revealed that "Ma’aref" initiative for Preferred UAE Federal Government’s Training Partners, launched in late 2013, has saved 8 million dirhams from the funds allocated to training in the ministries and federal authorities since its launch until the end of the first half of 2015. The initiative was introduced by FAHR to compile a list of the best training providers UAE-wide and make it available to ministries and federal bodies to take advantage of the training programs offered by these partners at reduced rates.
In this regard, Amna Al Suwaidi, Director of Human Resources Planning explained that the FAHR had held 824 free training courses under "Ma’aref" initiative since the launch of the initiative until the end of the first half of this year, 115 of the courses during the first half, targeting nearly 9500 Federal Government employees.
She said: "We have received 336 applications from different training providers in the country to join the initiative. Following strict scrutiny, 114 names were chosen and work is currently underway to select more as per criteria recently developed and updated to suit the aspirations of the UAE’s wise leadership towards enhancing the quality of training services across the Federal Government institutions. To this end, FAHR has launched an interactive smart application, which allows training providers to showcase the training courses they offer, the prices of those courses and discount rates exclusively given to staff of the federal government. It also enables the ministries and federal bodies to choose courses that are commensurate with the needs of their employee.
“Ma’aref initiative is in line with the UAE Vision 2021, and its national agenda, and supports the implementation of the human resources strategy in the Federal Government, which is based on creating a qualified human capital capable of achieving global leadership pursued by the UAE Government.”
In conclusion, Amna Al Suwaidi added that the workshops and training sessions addressed several topics including: strategy, quality, leadership, communication, project management, public administration, IT, accounting, legal affairs, creative thinking, as well as excellence in government service centers and career motivation and development.
