The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has responded since the beginning of the year until the end of September, 2014, to 543 consultation requests by the ministries and federal entities and their employees. The requests related to legal aspects of human resource policies, legislation and systems applied in the independent ministries and federal authorities. In addition, 190 requests were responded to during the third quarter of the year, 45 of them in July, 65 in August and 80 in September.
Dalmook Thani Al Muhairi, Director of Policy and Legal Affairs at FAHR indicated that the consulting team had dealt with 543 cases of legal inquiry received from the ministries and independent federal authorities since the beginning of 2014 until the end of the third quarter of the year, primarily focusing on the issues of housing allowance, appointment, end of service benefits, leaves, allowances and bonuses, workplace violations, breast-feeding hours, promotions, and performance management system.
He added that the team is studying the cases received from the staff of federal bodies and human resource and legal departments with respect to HR laws, regulations and policies in the Federal Government. The team aims to establish a unified standard in all matters relating to FAHR, as well as document legal principles in order to facilitate work procedures in the future.
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources had formed the Legal Consulting Team in late 2010, to create a legal culture among the staff of ministries and federal bodies about HR legislation, policies and systems applied at the level of the Federal Government, by responding to inquiries and queries sent by the employees working for those entities.
