The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), recently organized at its headquarters in Dubai, an awareness-raising workshop for its employees entitled "Keys to Health and Happiness in the Holy Month", focusing on proper nutrition and the impact of some eating habits during the holy month of Ramadan.
The workshop, which was presented by physiotherapist Dr. Osama Kamel Alala, aimed to acquaint employees of the Authority with ways to prepare healthy food, and the importance of consuming meals that include bread, fruits, milk, rice and vegetables in reasonable quantities; as large quantities and high content of fat, salt, proteins and sugar may cause thirst during the day.
It focused on educating employees about the basics of balanced nutrition during the month of Ramadan and the role of nutrition in maintaining health and preventing chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol.
The workshop is part of a series of awareness campaigns and activities organized by the Authority periodically for its employees as part of Employee Wellness Program launched in 2014, which includes four initiatives under each of the following activities and projects: Health Initiatives, Occupational Safety Initiatives, Social and community initiatives.
