In the opening speech, HE Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Director General of the Authority, said that the UAE has set the best examples of solidarity and fraternity through its unique unitary experience, explaining that the UAE National Day is a dear occasion for all citizens  and residents who live on this blessed land.

“Let us remember on this occasion, the efforts of our founding fathers who believed in the power of the Union, and offered their best in building its foundations, and protecting its achievements,” he said.

HE added: "We are now celebrating 48 years of unprecedented  achievements at all levels, which contributed to consolidating the UAE’s leading position regionally and around the world, Thanks to our wise leadership, headed by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and their brothers Members of the UAE Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates.”
