"Ma’arif" Training Forum covers all UAE’s emirates and targets hundreds of government employees

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has announced that the activities of the 7th session of the annual "Ma’arif" Training and Development Forum 2019, which is still roaming the UAE’s seven emirates, has completed training more than 700 employees working in 67 ministries and federal and local entities across the country.

In this regard, Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Programs and HR Planning Sector at the Authority, confirmed that the forum organized by the Authority under the Federal Government’s preferred training partners initiative (Ma’arif), has held 25 free training courses and programs, offered by the best training providers in UAE.

 

She added: “Ma’arif Training Forum for this year is different from all  previous ones in terms of its activities that are extended over four months, cover the whole country and benefit the largest possible number of Federal Government and local governments employees. The new approach in implementation of the annual Ma’arif Forum comes in response to recommendations of the UAE Government’s annual meetings of the UAE government, to expand the scope of federal HR initiatives, such as the Federal Government’s preferred training partners (Ma’arif), HR Club and the Federal Government employees’ discount program (Imtyazat), so as to cover all emirates, thus maximizing their benefits.”

 

 Laila Al Suwaidi stressed the importance of training and empowering human resources in ministries and federal entities, which would enable them to achieve the visions and plans of the UAE Government, as well as  meet the aspirations of the wise leadership, led by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and their brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

 

She indicated that the UAE Government has made great progress in terms of preparing and qualifying the government human resources, and enhancing its own outstanding experiences, knowledge and skills, especially in the field of modern technology. “UAE is proactive in adopting and developing innovative training methods necessary for keeping pace with a rapidly changing job market,” she noted.

 

According to Al Suwaidi, Ma’arif Training Forum provides an ideal opportunity to review the latest trends in human resources training and development solutions to support the development of the federal and local government employees and contribute to providing government institutions with qualified human capital capable of realizing the UAE Vision 2021 and UAE National Agenda.

 

For her part, Lulua Al-Marzouqi, Director of HR Planning Department at the Authority explained that Ma’arif Forum started its activities last August by holding a series of training courses and programs for Federal Government and local governments employees in Dubai.

 

"The Forum will feature general and specialized training programs and courses supervised by experts in their fields, including: Digital security for employees, effective communication and effective team management, managing working women’s stress, basic concepts of human resource management, skills for preparing operational plans, leadership skills for human resource managers, and skills to measure the ROI of training,” she said.

 

She revealed that the Authority holds the activities of the 7th session of  Ma’arif Training and Development Forum in cooperation with about 17 training partners and providers listed under Ma’arif initiative for the Federal Government’s preferred training partners. She noted that the Ma’arif initiative launched by the Authority in 2013, is the first of its kind at the Federal Government level, as it includes a list of the best training providers in the UAE and makes it available to ministries and federal entities wishing to benefit from the training programs offered at competitive prices.

 

Lulwa Al Marzouqi stated that the “Knowledge” initiative aims to create a partnership based on social responsibility and mutual benefit between the public and private sectors, and to ensure reliable quality training for employees of ministries and federal agencies, and to cover the training need, in line with the requirements of the training and development system for federal government employees, and to achieve financial abundance from Training budgets in the federal authorities, thus benefiting the largest possible number of employees, in addition to enhancing efficiency and productivity, creating an attractive and stimulating work environment in the federal government, and facilitating the federal authorities in choosing training courses, Available electronically, according to pre-defined time frames.

 

Lulwa Al Marzouqi explained that Ma’aref Initiative aims to establish a partnership based on social responsibility to serve the mutual interests of the government and private sectors, guarantee provision of high quality training for  employees of ministries and federal entities, meet the training needs in accordance with the Training & Development System for the Federal Government employees, achieve a financial surplus from the training budgets of federal entities for the benefit of the largest number of employees, enhance the competency and productivity of the Federal Government, create a favorable business environment therein, and assist federal entities to select training courses online, in accordance with predefined time frames.
