The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) recently handed over 48 computers to Dubai Municipality as part of its ongoing initiatives to mark the ‘Year of Giving’ and in support of PCs rehabilitation project implemented by the Municipality in cooperation with government and private organizations in the country.
Hanan bin Naseef, Deputy Director of Government Communication, FAHR, said that the initiative came within the framework of a series of community initiatives launched by the Authority during 2017, to reflect its keenness to respond to the announcement of His Highness President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, 2017 as 'Year of Giving'.
She said: "The Authority has been highly responsive to initiatives of social and humanitarian nature launched by governmental, semi-governmental and private institutions. Among these initiatives is PCs Rehabilitation Initiative launched by Dubai Municipality. The idea is to collect used computers from individuals and send them to a well- equipped center for repair and distribution for reuse within the USE and in poor countries".
Hanan noted that the Authority launched a series of community initiatives to mark the Year of Giving, in cooperation with partner federal, local and private institutions, pointing out that an integrated plan for community-based initiatives has been prepared throughout the year 2017, with participation of employees of other ministries and federal entities through soliciting their opinions regarding the community initiatives that they wish to be implemented by FAHR during the year.
She concluded by saying that these community initiatives are intended to maximize participation within and outside the country, and to consolidate the values of volunteerism and philanthropy, promote the spirit of social responsibility, and instil the values of loyalty and career happiness by volunteering.
