The technical group set up by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) recently held a meeting to make necessary preparations on HR Theme, within the annual meeting of the UAE Government, scheduled to take place on 26 and 27 September. The annual meetings are held every September across all federal and local government entities to discuss the UAE Centennial 2071 goals and strategy in the coming 50 years.
The technical meeting was part of the authority’s preparations for the HR Theme, which will be presented by the Authority at the UAE Centennial 2071 meeting, at the request of the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future. The Authority has also coordinated with parties concerned with human resources, representing local governments, to form the technical team to study the most important challenges, and set medium- and long- term priorities.
The technical group members reviewed the most important elements of the government HR Theme, and agreed on a joint work plan that supports the UAE leadership’s vision towards achieving a robust government system cable of realizing the UAE Vision 2012, its national agenda, serve its citizens and residents, and develop human capital, based on strong HR systems and legislation.
HE Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Director General of the Federal Authority for Human Resources, chaired the meeting, which was attended by a number of the Authority's leaders, as well as representatives of human resources authorities in the local governments: Human Resources Authority, Abu Dhabi; Executive Council, Dubai; Department of Human Resources, Sharjah; Executive Council, Ajman; Executive Council, Umm Al Quwain; Human Resources Department, Ras Al Khaimah and Human Resources Department, Fujairah.
They discussed the state of human resources in the country, the main opportunities for progress, the achievements and challenges faced, highlighting future directions in the field of human resources, and proposing national initiatives to support human resources capacity building.
