The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) announced in a circular recently issued to all ministries and federal authorities, that a decision has been taken to stop the imbursement of education allowance granted by any of the federal government entities for UAE students enrolled in private schools that are classified as “low performing”. The decision will be effective as of the beginning of the academic year 2016/2017, according to the circular.
FAHR stated that the decision comes pursuant to the Council of Ministers’ Resolution No (41 m / 7 m) for 2016 organizing enrollment of UAE students in private schools with “poor” and “very poor” performance. The decision contains several items, including the payment of 50% maximum of education allowance grated by the federal government entities students enrolled in private schools with unacceptable performance, with effect from the academic year 2017/2018.
The circular urged all ministries and federal bodies to implement the above two items, and advise the relevant departments to coordinate directly with the Ministry of Education, Knowledge Authority and Human Development Authority in Dubai and Abu Dhabi Education Council, in order to identify the private schools that are classified as low or acceptable performing for the purposes of impleneting the above two items.
