How should I use keywords?

Use keywords that are as specific as possible. For example, if you want to search about a page, use the “word page” not “a pages” “and pages” etc…

Refine search results?

If you find that your search has returned too many results you might want to consider refining your search. You can refine your search by adding other keywords to your search or by using the handy keyword tool that can filter your results to make them more accurately reflect the information you are looking for. The filters can be found to the top of your results.

FAHR launches “Happiness Corner"

The Federal Authority for Human Resources (FAHR) has recently launched a happiness corner at its headquarters in Dubai, as part of a series of events to mark UAE Innovation Week, which runs until 26 November.

In this regard, Ali Ahli, Director of Human Resources and Services in the Authority said: “The happiness corner has been launched to act as an umbrella for a series of events and recreational activities for employees, and give them the opportunity to practice sports and exercises that will help them to relax and renew their mental and physical activity. The ultimate objective of the corner is to provide a suitable informal environment for the employees that help boost their energy, strengthen communication between employees in various departments and units, thus increasing productivity.”

Ali Ahli conducted a workshop titled "Happiness and positivity", attended by a number of sector and department directors and employees of the Authority. He shed light on the concept of happiness, and its importance in the work environment, reviewing initiatives launched by the Authority over the past years to promote the happiness of its employees. “Happiness is is a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. It is often defined in terms of living a good life, or flourishing, rather than simply as an emotion”, he added.

He said that happiness affects all aspects the work in any organization, pointing out that the studies on the subject of happiness in the work environment showed that happier employees can improve their performance by 31%, innovation by 300%, and effectiveness by 37%, while the sick leave rate decreases by 66% with hapiness.

Director of Human Resources and Services reviewed the several initiatives launched by the Authority to enhance employee well-being, workplace happiness, harmony and job satisfaction, including: happiness corner, breakfast gathering, happiness and positivity session organized on a regular basis for a number of employees during which they meet with the Director General, and happy hour Initiative organized by the Authority  Periodically.

Happiness Activities

In this context, the Authority organized an interactive workshop for its employees titled "How to achieve happiness in the work environment", in collaboration with Biz group, which highlighted the positive results of happiness in the workplace through creating facilities to increase employee productivity, improve their performance, and reduce employee turnover rates.

The workshop conductor that happiness in organization is achieved at three levels: the organization itself, the teams and the employee. These levels are integrated with each other to achieve the ultimate goal for any organization, namely customers’ happiness through increasing their confidence in the organization. She suggested that the formula of employee happiness is weighed on the basis of 50% genetic, 40% circumstances and  10% voluntary activity.
