Meitha Kolthoum, Director of the Strategy and Future Department at the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), reviewed the Authority's successful experience in implementing the Remote Work System at the level of the Authority and the Federal Government as a whole, and the most prominent features of the system, its applications and the legislation governing it. She also shared the most important lessons learned from the experience, with its benefits and opportunities for institutions and employees.
This came during her speech at the "Remote Forum" organized by the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications in the UAE government, on March 15 and 16 in Dubai, with the participation of ministers, government officials, decision-makers, experts and private sector pioneers. She touched on the most important reasons for the success of the experience of the application of remote work in the federal government, such as the legislative flexibility, the leadership confidence in work teams and employees, the use of modern technology in performance and productivity follow-up processes, the readiness of integrated digital infrastructure, the availability of digital government services, and smart electronic systems, which help in the continuity of communication and services provision.
She stressed that the Remote Work System is still applied at the level of the federal government, according to the decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the new weekly work system in the federal government, and that the studies’ results showcased that the top five job categories benefiting from the remote work system on Friday are support services jobs, organizational development jobs, legal jobs, financial jobs, and health and safety jobs.
For their part, participants in the "Remote Forum" emphasized that future work patterns focus on boosting the use of technology, the applications of artificial intelligence and the digitization in various fields of work, promoting continuous development processes in remote work solutions, and formulating new and innovative models and methods to enhance productivity and efficiency, which is reflected positively on the level of performance and the life quality of society members.
