The UAE Government participated in the meeting of the Executive Council of the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO), which was held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, in its 112th regular session at the ministerial level. The meeting was held to discuss ways to empower Arab government institutions and personnel, and enhance their prepardness to face future challenges.
The UAE Government’s delegation included HE Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, Chairperson of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources; HE Laila Al Suwaidi, Acting Director-General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, and Ibrahim Fikri, Executive Director of Support Services at the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance Arab experiences in the areas of administrative development of the government sector, the most important challenges and opportunities that resulted from the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and its impact on Arab government’s work.
In a related context, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt met the ministers and heads of delegations participating in the meeting, including HE Ohoud bint Khalfan Al-Roumi, and Dr. Nasser Al-Hatlan Al-Qahtani, Director General of ARADO, on the sidelines of the organization’s Executive Council meeting in its 112the regular session. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Saleh Al-Sheikh, head of the Central Agency on Organization and Administration in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The Executive Council of the Arab Administrative Development Organization in its 112th regular session, at the level of experts, included the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Sultanate of Oman, Kuwait, and Kingdom of Morocco, to prepare for the meeting of ministers, and discussed the organization’s activities report for 2020, topics related to administrative development in Arab countries, ways to improve institutional capacities, and develop human capital skills.
The Council consists of seven members elected by the General Assembly for a period of two years. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia chairs the Council in its current session, with Egypt acting as Vice-President. The Council sets the ARADO’s general policies and work plans and oversees their implementation. It meets twice a year.
