Thursday July 14, 2022

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) recently held the sixth virtual session of the Human Resources Club 2022, under the title "Mental Health and High-Performance Organizations" in cooperation with the Takalam Platform, where nearly 400 members of the club from inside and outside the country followed it.

The session, which was held via live broadcast technology, hosted Dr. Khalifa Al-Meqbali - a Senior Specialist at Takalam Platform, and an Emirati doctor and German-Board certified psychiatrist, and was moderated by Ms. Khawla Hammad, the founder and CEO of the Takalam Platform, which provides online counseling to support mental health.

Dr. Khalifa Al-Meqbali explained that the formation of high-performance work teams depends on the ability of institutions and their leaders to build healthy social relationships between all members of the same team, and to create an atmosphere full of harmony and understanding, which will necessarily lead to enhancing the performance of employees and increasing the productivity of their institutions.

He stressed that the world's leading institutions put the health and mental safety of employees at the top of their priorities and concerns. This arising out of their believing that their employees are their most important assets and true wealth. So, they launch creative initiatives that enhance the physical and psychological health of employees, which positively reflects on their levels of well-being and career happiness.

He pointed out that any person in this life is exposed to setbacks and bad psychological experiences, but the good thing here is that dealing with these experiences with optimism and positivity, will turn them into a potential opportunity to improve our performance and capabilities at the professional and personal levels. Dr. Al-Meqbali calls on employees who wish to develop their abilities and competencies to follow a healthy lifestyle and adopt a number of healthy habits such as: (adequate sleep, eating healthy food, exercising, and meditating).
In addition, Dr. Al-Meqbali stated that the psychological problems that employees suffer greatly affect their performance and productivity. As a matter of fact, this threatens their chances of staying in the organization, indicating that these employees often make a huge mistake in their quest to find random solutions to the psychological problems they suffer, without knowing and specifying what the problem is and the reasons behind it. He added that the proper diagnosis of the problem in such situation is half the treatment.
