The Federal Job Evaluation & Description Committee (FJEDC) has completed the endorsement of 450 Federal Government job description cards, including the basic and support job groups. The committee has held 12 meetings at the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) headquarters in Dubai under the chairmanship of His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Director General of FAHR
In this regard, Laila Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of Programs & HR Planning sector at FAHR explained that job evaluation and description cards endorsed by FJEDC amounted to 450 job description cards which cover 244 basic job category in federal ministries and entities, and 206 cards within the support job category.
She indicated that FJEDC has endorsed in its last meeting 25 job evaluation and description cards belonging to the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development , which fall within the basic job category, in addition to 3 cards belonging to the Ministry of Education within the same job category and which include assistant manager for the domain of student affairs, assistant manager for the domain of academic affairs and finally assistant manager for the domain of institutional services.
Laila Al Suwaidi pointed out that the committee has introduced some amendments to the titles of a number of subsidiary job families belonging to the job family of culture, art and literature within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development, namely: (community development, arts, heritage, cultural activities, libraries, museums and archeology and copyright and publication)
Finalizing the evaluation and description of basic Federal Jobs by the End of 2016
Laila Al Suwaidi stated that FJEDC is expected to finalize the evaluation and description of all existing basic jobs in the federal government by the end of 2016. She also indicated that The FCJEC is responsible for providing support for the internal evaluation committees in the federal government entities, to ensure proper implementation of job evaluation and description processes, and endorsing the results of job evaluations conducted by internal job evaluation committees. Other responsibilities include: final approval of job titles, descriptions and families for new and existing jobs, periodic review of reference levels, in addition to making recommendations for adjustments if the need arises. It is also responsible for preparing periodic reports on the number of new and adjusted jobs in the federal government, and providing the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources with updated job titles, descriptions and families in government entities periodically, as well as any other tasks assigned by the Chairman of FAHR.
The committee holds regular meetings or on invitation to convene by its Chairman at the time and venue specified by the chairman and take justifiable decisions by simple majority and in case of equal votes the chairman has a casting vote. The official office of the committee is the offices of FAHR.
