The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), in cooperation with Noor Dubai Foundation, launched Monday a charitable campaign under "Sanadhom Amanah" Community Initiative, to provide medical care for a large number of blind elderly people in poor countries, in conjunction with the International Day of Older Persons, every year.
In this regard, Mahmoud Al Marzouqi, Director of Government Communications, FAHR, said that the proceeds of the campaign will be used to support the activities of Noor Dubai and its treatment camps in poor countries, adding that only 50 dirhams can treat four people from blindness.
“The campaign comes as part of the Authority’s series of community initiatives to mark the Year of Zayed. The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has publicized the campaign at the federal government level to allow the opportunity for the largest number of employees of the ministries and federal entities to participate in community work and charitable giving through their various social networking accounts or via BAYANATI System”, he noted.
HE called on community groups to contribute to the campaign and donate AED 50 by sending the word ‘Hope’ in an SMS to number 4565 (Etisalat), or number 4849 (du.)
Al-Marzouqi said that cooperation with charities at the state level gives initiatives a strong boost, pointing out that Noor Dubai Foundation, which is part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, is one of the leading humanitarian organizations specialized in the treatment of eye diseases. Over the past years, it has helped treat more than 27 million people worldwide, he said.
