How should I use keywords?

Use keywords that are as specific as possible. For example, if you want to search about a page, use the “word page” not “a pages” “and pages” etc…

Refine search results?

If you find that your search has returned too many results you might want to consider refining your search. You can refine your search by adding other keywords to your search or by using the handy keyword tool that can filter your results to make them more accurately reflect the information you are looking for. The filters can be found to the top of your results.

Tuesday December 30, 2014

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), launched its all-new website ( www.fahr.gov.ae), which is now providing high quality electronic services in terms of content and format, particularly those relating to HR policies and procedures in the Federal Government. Moreover, users, customers and those interested can more easily access to specific reports and related information about FAHR and its initiatives and projects.

In this regard, Mrs. Wafa Amiri, Director of IT Department at FAHR said: “The aim of launching the redesigned site is to keep up with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, with respect to the shift towards smart government, to ensure the provision of government services to all customers quickly and effectively around the clock”.

Wafa Amiri explained that the revamped website features a bilingual interface using Arabic and English, and pages to display all the information and resources of the old site in a more modern, user friendly format, focusing on HR systems, policies and legislation at the Federal Government level, along with circulars and decisions issued in this regard. It also highlights the strategic initiatives and projects launched by FAHR, as well as its events using word, image and video, in addition to the latest statistics and scientific studies related to human capital in the Federal Government. “Other options include services in the form of links a user can navigate and browse through the content, using smartphones and tablets”, she said.

The new site, according to the IT Director, has been designed according to the specifications set by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) in the UAE, to ensure that it meets international standards of excellence, and is consistent in form and content with the corporate identity of FAHR. It features essential links of interest to visitors, including the conditions of usage, ‘Contact Us’, the site map, the organizational structure of the Authority, as well as its vision, mission and values, and many other important links.

Wafa Amiri noted that the new site provides an interactive platform whereby FAHR’s audience can quite easily request legal advice and technical support, and access to various accounts across social networking sites such as Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Users have the opportunity to post their feedback and share their views through a blog site which is updated continuously with the most important topics related to the human resources in the UAE and the world, both in Arabic and English.

She said: “Nearly 250 thousand people visited our website in 2014, of which 210 thousand from within the UAE. Most of these visitors focused on the main content items such as: Media Center, Laws and regulations, the HR Management Information System ‘BAYANATI’, and Employee Performance Management System in the Federal Government”.

During the year 2013, the Authority’s website ranked third, scoring 98.4%, at the Federal Government level in terms of quality and excellence, according to a report assessing websites in federal entities issued on an annual basis by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in the UAE.

The report is based on a number of key criteria that should be observed in evaluating websites, including: scope, web hosting, design, accessibility, usage, e-content, in addition to e-participation, the use of social networking channels, and marketing.
