The United Arab Emirates has moved up 7 places in World Economic Forum list issued recently, to rank 12th among the most competitive nations globally, according to the Global Competitiveness Report, 2014-2015. It ranked first among Arab countries and regionally, and rose in the global rankings from 19th place in last year's assessment, scoring 5.1 points, to rank 12th this year, with 5.3 points.
Commenting on this achievement, HE Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources said that the UAE under its prudent leadership is pursuing a clear approach which has become a role model of governance among countries of the world.
HE said,”This unique experience has led to the achievement of great strides in economic and social development, as well as government operations, and contributing to increased happiness and prosperity among the UAE people, within a short period of time, thanks to the wise leadership’s keenness to maintain the position of the country at the forefront globally and realize the UAE Vision 2021 and its National Agenda for the next seven years.
“The wise leadership, led by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has established the principles of excellence and global competitiveness and leadership in the federal and local government, which is positively reflected in the successive accomplishments achieved at Arab, regional and international arenas”
