FAHR reacts to the National Immunization Campaign against Polio

Monday November 24, 2014

The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has positively reacted to the National Immunization Campaign against polio recently launched by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with Abu Dhabi and Dubai Health Authorities, in order to strengthen children’s immunity against polio and to eradicate the disease.

FAHR urged all employees working in ministries and federal entities, as well as members of the Human Resources Club and its partners, to take part in the campaign, through disseminating awareness about polio, making use of the massive data available on the Human Resources Management Information System (BAYANATI), including postal addresses, and Twitter accounts. Promotion and awareness slogans and the posters of the campaign have been published and distributed.

Mr. Mahmoud Al Marzouki, Director of Government Communications emphasized that participation in the national immunization campaign against polio reflects the Authority’s commitment to its social responsibility and the belief in the importance of preparing a healthy and disease free generation capable of pushing forward the wheel of development in the UAE, maintaining the gains that have been made over the past four decades, and building on these gains.

He pointed out that the Authority’s participation comes as part of the Employee Welfare Initiative recently launched by the Authority, which comprises a set of  activities and projects on healthcare, occupational safety, green environment, social work, etc, as well as any other activities that promote positive energy among the federal government employees, and help in employee engagement  and job satisfaction.

It should be noted that the campaign is divided into two phases, the first starting on November 16 until November 27, 2014, while the second phase will be conducted in the period from January 11 to January 22, 2015. The National Polio campaign targets children of UAE nationals and expatriates aged 4 months to 5 years, and vaccines are given free of charge to every child without presenting health card or any related documents.
