HE Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources confirmed that Authority is pushing ahead with its strategic projects to the HR departments in the ministries and federal authorities using all means and ways available, in line with the UAE Vision 2021 and the aspirations of the wise leadership and all citizens.
He stressed the important role the staff of HR departments are playing, in their capacity as leaders of the process of change and institutional development, in their efforts to achieve the required level of performance, ensure satisfaction among all employees, as well as attract and retain qualified national human resources in an environment conducive to innovation and excellence.
HE Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Awar was addressing the participants in a training program for the development of HR officials, held by the Authority recently in Dubai. The program focused on the development of competencies, which would contribute to the success and excellence of HR departments in the ministries and federal authorities.
The program, which extended for five days, was attended by 16 managers and section heads of HR departments in 12 federal agencies. The program was organized in collaboration with the American International Public Management Association for Human Resource (IPMA), an organization specialized in HR development.
Mrs. Mouza Serkal, Director of Projects and Programs in the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources said that the training program addressed several topics, including: human resources as an element of change in institutions and its role as a strategic partner for institutional development, and the importance of the role of HR professionals and experts in the development process, in their capacity as organizational leadership, and modern theories and concepts in HR management.
She said that the participants used in the training process some real case studies and interacted with the training program, which comprised 35 hours of practical work, remarkably by raising issues, sharing experience and feedback. The training to qualify the program participants for attainment of the certificate of these international tests has been going on for almost two years.
Mr.Serkal pointed out that program on development of HR officials, implemented by the Authority with HR departments in the Federal Government, will continue addressing the same topics and other new ones. She stressed that the program is regarded as an essential initiative of the Authority towards the achievement of its strategic objectives focusing on the development of HR departments’ infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of efficiency for these departments, through strengthening the capacity of staff and upgrading their skills in the Federal Government.
