How should I use keywords?

Use keywords that are as specific as possible. For example, if you want to search about a page, use the “word page” not “a pages” “and pages” etc…

Refine search results?

If you find that your search has returned too many results you might want to consider refining your search. You can refine your search by adding other keywords to your search or by using the handy keyword tool that can filter your results to make them more accurately reflect the information you are looking for. The filters can be found to the top of your results.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar Opens UK Skills Expo

His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), inaugurated. Along with His Excellency Edward Hobart British Consul General in Dubai, the second UK Skills Expo, held at the British Embassy in Dubai, supported by Manchester Business School.

 

HE Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, emphasized the importance of cooperation between FAHR and the British Embassy in sharing the expertise of UK exhibitors and training providers with the UAE in general and the Federal Government in particular, opening new horizons for the provision of quality and accredited training programs, which would contribute in enhancing the implementation of the HR Strategy in the UAE Federal Government.

Aisha Al Suwaidi, Executive Director of HR Policies at FAHR, reviewed at a seminar held on the sidelines of the event, the efforts of the UAE Government regarding the development of human capital, and the ongoing quest for innovative ideas and practices in the field of training and education, in order to increase the efficiency of the Federal Government, and add value to the  projects and initiatives of FAHR.

Amna Al Suwaidi, Director of HR Planning, shed light on the Federal Government preferred training partners’ Initiative "Ma’aref", which aims to compile a list of the best training providers across the UAE and make their training services available to the ministries and federal authorities.

Other participants from FAHR in the opening ceremony of the 2-day event, included HE Mariam Al Abbar, Executive Director of Programs & HR Planning, HE Aisha Al Suwaidi, Amna Al Suwaidi, and a number of FAHR staff.

Representatives of Dubai Knowledge & Human Resource Development Authority highlighted the opportunities and facilities provided by the State in general, and the emirate in particular, for investors in training and education.

The event brought together 42 UK training and educational institutions and universities (both UAE and UK based), under one roof, to explore the UAE market and form partnerships and offices within the State.

Her Majesty’s Consul General, Edward Hobart said:

“Education and training have historically been a UK area of strength, which is why we wanted to bring it overseas to the UAE. We want to be a part in its growth and development, especially now that Dubai will host the Expo 2020.”

Randa Bessiso, DirectorMiddle East, Manchester Business School said:

“We hope to make it an annual event because we want the government and private institutes in the UAE to have access to the best vocational training available."

Sunita Mirchandani's, Lead Advisor for Education and Training at the British Embassy said:

“UK training expertise is well known all over the world, and we hope to further the strong links that already exist with UAE based organizations and to develop new relationships.”

the event aims to provide a platform for those responsible for learning and development across public and private sector companies in the UAE to meet UK training partners

The UK and UAE enjoy close links in the education and training sectors. There are many UAE based UK training related organisations who work closely and successfully with UAE entities. We wish to further these relationships to support the UAE National Agenda leading to UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE’s development in line with Expo 2020 which is expected to create 220,000 jobs.
